Instructor Development Course with Dixie Divers
Scuba diving is an exciting, dynamic recreation that supports a growing world-wide industry with many professional opportunities. A scuba diving career can break you out of inside a 8-to-4 office hour of job, but instead provide you with an enjoyable part-time or full time job and many opportunity for travel. With over 3500 PADI diving center in over 175 countries a PADI professional credential can be a passport to international employment.

New Progressive Program Offers More Flexibility with PADI Instructor Development Course encompasses both the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. This offers you several options for reaching your professional goals allowing you to plan appropriate breaks in training to further hone your knowledge, skills and leadership abilities or attend a continuous program that results in PADI Instructor certification.
Both programs begin with independent learning which means you can start your course today. By using the various PADI materials contained in the Instructor Crew Pack you can familiarize yourself with and refresh your knowledge of PADI courses, program and standards. Independent learning enables you to study using your own schedule ensuring a comfortable learning experience.

What do I need to start?

  • PADI Assistant Instructor certification or be an instructor in good standing with another training organization for at least six months ( check with a PADI Course Director or PADI Office for qualifying credentials.)
  • Hold a dive certification for at least six months
  • Have 60 logged dives that include night, deep and navigation dives
  • Proof of CPR training within the last 24 months
  • Medical clearance signed by a physician

What will I do?

  • Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
  • Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations
  • Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations
  • Have at least 100 logged dives prior to entering a PADI Instructor Exam
